Coleman was raised in the Lancashire town of Blackpool. She was the head girl in the Arnold School, Blackpool and had straight A's at her A levels. As she discussed her Emmerdale character Coleman expressed regret over having not attended a university. Coleman was as Crystal Clear at the Edinburgh Festival with a company named In Yer Space, which she participated in when she was at the school. She won an award for her performance and the production was also highly praised. Coleman was given the part in the role of Jasmine Thomas at Emmerdale while auditioning in drama schools in 2005. In 2007, Coleman was nominated for two prizes. She was nominated for two awards. British Soap Awards nominated her as the best newcomer. The National Television Awards, she received the award for most popular newcomer. For the British Soap Awards of 2009 she received nominations in the categories of Best Actress and Sexiest female in addition to the Best acting in a Drama. Coleman received a TV Choice Award nomination for Best Actress. Steven Moffat, the producer of Doctor Who confirmed in a 21st March 2012 press conference that Coleman will play Matt Smith's companion after Karen Gillan left. Moffat selected her because of how well she could work alongside Smith and also because she spoke faster than him. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She's been working active in the field for more than 30 years and is involved with numerous film and TV projects. Her work has been much more prominent on TV than films. Eva is best known for her roles on the show Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children and as the detective Natalia Boa Vistas on CSI Miami. In the latter, she even received two nominations for the Daytime Emmy Awards and allowed her to experiment with her talents in music. In addition to being an actor, Eva is also a philanthropist as well as an entrepreneurial. She has been married thrice and is the mother of a child from her second husband.
